Fly Tying Tools
Prepare fibers, spin dubbing and shape hair
Get the material into position
The full-length Loon D-Loop Tweezer gives you a long contact to transfer fibers as a group. Use a shorter clamp if you work with a small amount and want a clear view. Choose a thread that splits cleanly if using a split-thread technique. A conventional loop is another way to hold a batch of fibers.
Twist the loaded loop
The Gator Grip includes a hook to catch a thread loop and a jaw for gripping an end. A weighted C&F Top Twister hangs below the fly and rotates as one piece. Compare how you want to hold the loop while loading it and maintain pull while winding.
Separate surface grooming from hair packing
Use a comb to arrange long fibers and a brush to raise fibers after wrapping. A hair stacker lines up loose tips before the material is tied. After spinning hair around the shank, use a packer to press the tied bunch into position.
